On-Line Driver Training

Welcome to the University of Alabama On-Line Driver Training

As stated in the Motor Vehicle Record Policy and the Vehicle Safety Management Program all regular drivers of vehicles that are owned by, leased to or loaned to The University of Alabama must complete a Defensive Driving Course. This includes, but may not be limited to, volunteers, students, faculty and staff. It also includes spouses and dependents of the aforementioned individuals if they, too, drive University-owned, leased or loaned vehicles on a regular or routine basis. Any new regular driver must complete the Defensive Driving Course and any other required course within 90 days of hire.

As a vehicle driver you face numerous hazards on the road each day. The purpose of this Defensive Driving Course is to help you recognize those hazards and take appropriate actions to avoid involvement in accidents.

The course consists of 9 short videos with tips and advice about various defensive driving techniques.

Start with the Introduction Video, then view the remaining 8 videos. When all videos have been viewed click the Report Training Completion link to certify that you have successfully completed the course.

If the videos do not automatically launch in your video viewer, it probably means that you have never installed a video viewer. Do not be concerned, they are free and it will only take a few minutes. There are many viewers available on the market, it is not necessary to upgrade to the "professional" viewer. Just follow the instructions for the media player. Below are several links to different players.
